Hello 2/3B!
My walk yesterday was somewhat snowy but it was beautiful. I hope everyone has a chance to get outside today and enjoy the snow while it lasts. At my house there is plenty of snow, it is a wet and heavy snow which made the shoveling was hard but. I know that there are some from our group that would really enjoy helping with this chore and the heavy lifting is a great way to exercise our growing bodies while also using up some energy.
If you're looking for some ideas for fun in the snow I have a few, I tried making a snowman this morning but the crust on the top of snow made it difficult. If your snow is soft enough try making a snowman can be a creative way to get some exercise and funny enough a way to use some math concepts by counting the three balls that are needed, observe the three different sizes that are needed and don't forget to recognize the weight of the balls as they lift them.
Use some chalk or washable paint to make a huge target on a tree. Let the children throw snowballs at the target; ready, set, throw! Use a spray bottle with colored water in it, or just some colored cups of water with a paint brush would work. The snow makes the perfect white canvas to decorate! Take a nature walk and look for tracks in the snow, including your own.
It's a great day to be outside, enjoy! We would love to see pictures of your fun in the snow, please post if you have time. It's a great way to start a dialog with us and our 2/3B community❤.
Fondly,
Sandy & 2/3B
